Reed Richards und Susan Storm alias Mr. Fantastic und Invisible Woman wollen heiraten - wieder einmal. Dieses Mal stört der geheimnisvolle Silver Surfer die Zeremonie. Dort, wo er auftaucht, hinterlässt er Zerstörung, und zwar letztlich die ganzer Planeten. Um das aufzuhalten, müssen die Fantastic Four ausgerechnet mit ihrem ärgsten Feind, Dr. Doom, zusammenarbeiten. Doch der Surfer, der ohne sein Brett fast machtlos ist, entpuppt sich als gar nicht so böse, und Doom als gewohnt verräterisch.
